A two stage drilling program was completed in 1996 in the search for bulk tonnage gold (Au). The George Lake Lineament, with a known-strike length of 1.5km and the potential to host bulk tonnage type mineralization was the focus of exploration in 1997. The George Lake Lineament contains grades to 0.34 oz/t Au over 4 feet within a much larger mineralized zone and has had minimal exploration. A program of underground exploration, including limited drilling was done in 1997.
In 1998 a consulting firm (ERA-MapTec of Ireland) conducted a structural study on the property. This study showed the relationship of veins and mineralized altered areas to circular structures considered to be caused by intrusive rocks at depth. A relogging and interpretation of 1980's drill core in the Camp vein will provide additional necessary information. This area hosts silver grades averaging 70 ounces per ton (opt) silver with intercepts of 200-400 opt silver. This area is a recent discovery and is over a mile from previous 1970-1975 workings where Bralorne - Pacific Petroleum (Bradina JV) operated at 500 tons per day.
The mineralized structures in the Silver Queen occur over thousands of feet laterally and do not diminish where tested below 1300' of depth. Values in Germanium, Gallium and Indium occur with these zinc rich gold silver ores.
